Rocket Dollar's Direct Custody SDIRA allows you to invest with AngelList's platform so that you can fund your investments in a tax-advantaged retirement account.

To invest on AngelList, you need to be an accredited investor, and you need to have been approved to invest.

From AngelList.com follow the steps below:

IRA LLC

Please allow 3-4 weeks lead time for establishing your IRA LLC account before investing with AngelList. The process for funding your AngelList investment is much faster once the account has been created, however, our IRA LLC does take at least 2 weeks to set up and can be as long as 4 weeks.

  1. After you've selected your investment on AngelList, you'll be asked to choose your funding source. Here, you'll have the option to select an existing investment entity or create a new one. If this is your first time using your Rocket Dollar IRA select ‘Add another investing entity’ and click ‘A Firm or Company’ as the type of investing entity. The Colorado LLC is the primary entity you should pick when registering investments with an IRA LLC, as it helps hold by holding the title of IRA assets.

  2. After you select ‘A Firm or Company’ as the investing entity, you will need to enter IRA LLC company name ‘JSMITH RD LLC" unless you have a custom named LLC.

  3. Next, you’ll choose your accreditation status.

  5. Under 'Entity details', please list the TIN for Solera Bank: #84-4416888. The address is typically your home address or the address you listed at signup.

  6. The Funding Method defaults to Wire. Leave ‘Wire’ selected.

  7. Select ‘Confirm and E-Sign for $XXXXX Investment’ once all boxes are checked for Closing Terms.

  8. At year's end, make sure to report on the Rocket Dollar investment tracker tab for your fair market value annual report.

Direct Custody IRA

Please know that using a direct custody IRA can slow down the process of funding your AngelList deal, as the investment approval can be 3-5 business days. An IRA LLC is a much faster way of funding your AngelList investment, but it does take longer to setup.

  1. After you've selected your investment on AngelList, you'll be asked to choose your funding source. Here, you'll have the option to select an existing investment entity or create a new one. If this is your first time using your Rocket Dollar IRA select ‘Add another investing entity’ and click ‘An IRA’ as the type of investing entity.
