How Can I Rollover Funds to my Self-Directed Account?

Rolling over funds from your previous employer retirement account such as a 401(K), 403(B), 457(B), and Profit Sharing Plans is different than an IRA to IRA Transfer. If you have questions regarding the rollover process, please contact our support team. 

FOR CHECKBOOK CONTROL IRAs ONLY: While we continue your onboarding process. Additional forms are required to complete your setup, please continue monitoring your email (and spam folder) for additional forms to complete.

Please Know:

  • You, as the plan participant, has sole authorization for your workplace retirement plan, Rocket Dollar cannot request funds to be transferred from your 401(k), 403(b), TSP, PSP, etc. account.
  • When rolling over from a Workplace Qualified plan, you must "push" the funds out of the plan by reaching out to your HR/plan provider and personally initiate the rollover. 

TO GET STARTED Please login to your Rocket Dollar dashboard and initiate the Rollover Certification form (step by step below).

ROLLOVER CERTIFICATION PROCESS:

1. Log into Rocket Dollar.

2. Click "Fund" 

3. Click "Transfer" 

4. "Transfer Source", pull down to either 401k, 403B, etc.

5. "Custodian Information", pull down to Custodian/Plan Provider where your funds are currently held. Plan Trustee/Custodian info is in alphabetical order.

6. "Statement Upload", please choose the folder location where a statement copy from your currently funded old workplace plan is located, click on that file and open.

7. Once you upload a copy of your statement, you will be prompted to digitally sign a Rollover Certification form via DocuSign.

8. Once you digitally sign, your form will flow into our transfer/rollover queue for our review. After reviewing, we will send over to our IRA Custodian partner, Digital Trust - for them to hold on file in anticipation of receipt of funds.

9. At this time, please use the delivery instructions above to send your rollover funds to IRA Custodian Digital Trust. 

MAKE THE CHECK PAYABLE TO:
Have them make out the check out to your IRA: "Digital Trust FBO: Your Name, IRA Type" (Roth or Traditional IRA)

  • DO NOT endorse the back of the check, IF you receive the check at your home address. Please forward to address in step 2. 

CHECK DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS: 

If they are willing to send directly to your IRA custodian, Digital Trust use the address below. More than likely your plan provider will only be willing to mail check to address of record; your home address.
