All IRA account holders can begin the IRA to IRA transfer process from the Rocket Dollar Dashboard under the "Fund" Tab. If you are Rolling over funds from a 401(K) 403(B), etc. Please click here. All Solo 401(K) clients will receive an email from our customer support team to verify their business information prior to funding.
FOR CHECKBOOK CONTROL IRAs ONLY: DO NOT send your IRA funds to your LLC/Trust checking account. Funds MUST go to your Digital Trust IRA first. If funds are sent to the LLC/Trust checking account without FIRST going through your IRA that will be classified as an IRA distribution. Rocket Dollar is not liable for these mistakes. While we continue your onboarding process, additional forms are required to complete your setup, please continue monitoring your email (and spam folder) for additional forms.
As a reminder; Please confirm with your current IRA custodian that you have sold enough investments to Cash. Funds must be available for this transfer request to process. The Transfer Request form that is generated will NOT act as a “sell order” to your current IRA custodian, it will be rejected if the funds are not available as Cash/Money Market.
Once the request is generated, our custodian partner Digital Trust will send the transfer form for your signature via Docusign within 2-3 Business days.
- Log into Rocket Dollar. https://app.rocketdollar.com/login
- Click "Fund" on top left side of dashboard
- Click "Transfer"
- "Amount", enter exact dollar amount if partial transfer and estimated dollar amount if full transfer.
- Choose the receiving account (this is your Rocket Dollar account)
- "Select-Transferring account type", pull down to your IRA type Roth or Traditional
- "Transferring Account Number" (This is the account number with your losing provider)
- Select whether this is a full or partial transfer (Full means you intend to close the losing account)
- Select the losing provider. (If you do not see your provider on the drop down, please contact our support team)
- Upload a statement of your losing provider and complete.
Please know transfer requests typically take 5-15 business days to complete. This timeframe is dependent on the losing custodian's processing time.
***NOTE: It is your responsibility as the client to contact your current custodian for their transfer out requirements. E.g.: does your current custodian require a "medallion signature and does the medallion signature need to be a certain level due to the dollar amount, corporate resolution, or any other additional documentation? Neither Rocket Dollar, nor Digital Trust, can be held responsible for not knowing the exact requirements of the losing custodian.
